China dominates the global jewelry market with 33%, surpassing the USA at 22%. Although Americans spend over $1,500 per capita, China prevails in total size. In the USA, diamonds account for 40%, while in China, gold makes up 60% of sales.

China has witnessed annual growth in diamond demand (from 640 to 707 billion RMB) between 2016 and 2020. Pearls are experiencing a new surge, especially among the younger generations and thanks to live streaming.

Recently, Gen Z males in China, despite the pandemic's effect, have significantly contributed to jewelry consumption with an acquisition rate of 10%, especially in tier 2 and 3rd tier cities.
